 View west from the Miradour at Piseos. This is just one of the many view points or Miradours along all the scenic roads in Sao Miguel. From here, you can look west to the tiny bay of Caloura and beyond along the southcoast. There are hundred of these, often beautifully kept, with mown grass, flower beds, public toilets and stone picnic tables. Most also have stone built barbeques too and often a washing up area. There are so many of these on the island that we reckon every man, woman and child on Sao Miguel could sit down to a picnic at the same time.MORE... |
