 View east along south coast from the Miradour at Piseos. From here, you can look east to the large sandy beach simply called Praia (Portuguese for 'beach'), between Ribeira Cha and Agua de Alto. This is another of the hundreds of beautiful Miradours along all the scenic roads in Sao Miguel. They are all immaculately kept, with mown grass, flower beds, public toilets and stone picnic tables. Most also have stone built barbeques too and often a washing up area as well as a stunning view. We once saw a whole family of locals, from babies to Grandparents, at one of these areas, enjoying a sumptuous Sunday lunch, while Grandad played the guitar for entertainment.MORE... |
