The valley of Furnas This view is from a Miradour to the south and east of the village of Furnas. The whole valley is beautiful and became one of my favourite places on the island. Mountains encircle the valley, except at the south eastern corner, where there is a road, running down a steep sided valley to a huge, sandy beach! Mountains, lakes, lush vegetation, beaches. What else could you wish for?
