 View south and west from Nossa Senhora dos Remedios, south east Sao Miguel, Azores The road southwards from Nordeste to Povoacao follows an area known as the Serra da Tronqueira. It is, as its name suggests a peaceful, beautiful and natural land, with wooded hillsides and more twisting and turning roads through the region of Nordeste. But as you reach Nossa Senhora dos Remedios, the landscape becomes more gently rolling than mountainous, until at last you can see this view down to the south and over to Povocao, where 5 or 6 rivers reach the sea and the land becomes flatter.MORE... |
