Lagoa, south coast Sao Miguel, Azores We stayed in this small town for a week and had a great time. It seemed a perfect base to us, since it was in easy reach of much of the island and well served by good roads. The town itself is a thriving fishing port with a busy harbour. There are a good choice of restaurants and a fantastic swimming area. This shot is from the far eastern edge of the town, looking back along the coast to the harbour.
